RRQY Articulated 48ft Container Wagon

New RRQY in China having final adjustments made.

With the demand for more 48ft container wagons, PN turned to Chinese workshops to supply copies of proven designs. The RRQY is almost a copy of the RQQY built 10 years before. The set consists of 5 x 48ft container platforms each capable of carrying either 1 x 48ft, 46ft Reefer, 1 x 40ft or 2 x 20ft containers.

Builders:

- Qiqihar Rollingstock Workshops, China built 45 sets in 2 batches during 2005.

Running Numbers: 1^st batch 7301-7318 and 2^nd batch are numbered 7319-7346.

Length: 77m Tare: 60t Capacity: 216t Gross: 276t

Bogies: Chinese 70t Ride Control Self-Steering RKYE with 840mm dia wheels.

Coding:

- As introduced, RRQY.

Colour Scheme:

- As introduced, they were painted PN blue overall with yellow side rails.

Modifications: 1^st batch of wagons have Westinghouse air brake components,

2^nd batch are fitted with in-house Chinese air brake components.

Similar Vehicles: modern copies of the RQQY.

Period of Service: 2005 to current

Operation: Used on all PN Intermodal trains on the SG rail network.

- No model available say so it will need to be scratchbuilt.
