New RKYY 7006M at Islington Workshops in 1995.

These wagons were built to replace the ageing RKSX (ex PMX) fixed tilt bed wagon. They are designed to carry steel sheets up to 4.3.m x 13.4m in size. The main load carrying bed of the wagon tilts 45° by means of 2 pneumatic actuators. Ratchet tie down straps are fitted to the tilt bed to restrain the load. The wagons can travel with the load bed in the flat or tilted position when empty.

RKYY 7006M was the prototype wagon designed and built by AN for NRC. An additional codeboard was later fitted to the end platform of this wagon and as built for the remainder of the class, as the original codeboard could not be seen when the bed was tilted!.
