DOT – Departmental Oil Tanker

 

With the influx of diesel locomotives in the early 1960’s, the railways went about designing (and in some cases building) their own fleet of diesel fuel tankers to keep all diesel fuel plants around the state topped up.

 

DOT L921-930 - 1962 7,000gal Tanker.

DOT L953-960 – 1963 Tulloch 10,000gal Tanker.

DOT L1422-1437 – 1966 Clyde 10,000gal Tanker.

DOT L1280-1304 – 1973/4 Chullora 10,000gal Tanker.
