SQGF Container Open Wagon

Silverton Rail’s own workshops converted 60 ex AOGF/L open wagons in late 2000. The body sides were removed and container twistlocks fitted to the deck. The remaining body ends and chassis were reinforced with steel beams.

They can carry 2 x 20ft or 1 x 40ft container.

Coding: Only ever been coded SQGF

 

Colour Scheme:

-                     The ends and bracing beams are painted ‘Homebush’ blue with ‘Homebush’ yellow chassis sides. Bogies are gunmetal grey

 

Operation:

            The wagons are used on Silverton’s container cotton trains from Warren and Wee Waa to Sydney and also on their ‘Manaway’ trip train from Leightonfield to Botany.

 

Modelling:

            -           They could be converted from a BGB AKKF kit.
