PX 58ft Flat Wagon

These 20 wagons were built by Chullora Workshops between 1975-76. They are traditional general-purpose flat wagons with a timber deck, mounting holes for 11 stanchions on each side and was fitted with full-length and headstock lashing rails.

Bogies: XCL or any other bogie exchangeable type.

 

Coding:

-                      As introduced, PX

-                      Recoded NFPX in 1979.

 

Colour Scheme:

-                      As introduced, painted PTC blue livery.

 

Modifications:

-                      Converted to HPX Chipboard Wagon

-                      Converted to NKPF/RKPX Sheet Steel wagons in the 1980’s

 

Period of Service: 1979 to current

 

Operation: Used to carry all manner of loading which would be over length for traditional 20 and 40ft wagons. Telephone poles, Steel beams and roll-on/roll-off vehicles were common loads. Have been noted operating into Victoria and South Australia.
