These
vans were rebuilt form reclaimed underframes from early Timber bodied PHG
guards vans in 1960. They were the first use of one-piece plywood roof vehicles
in the NSW Railways. At each end of the vans there is a 4m long goods
compartment, with one of them louvered for perishable traffic. In the centre
there is a guards compartment with toilet. Originally fitted with hook
drawgear, they were all later fitted with automatic couplers.
Builders:
Clyde Wagon Workshops rebuilt 182 vans from 1965 to 1972.
They were numbered 30901-31082.
