These vans were rebuilt form reclaimed underframes from early Timber bodied PHG guards vans in 1960. They were the first use of one-piece plywood roof vehicles in the NSW Railways. At each end of the vans there is a 4m long goods compartment, with one of them louvered for perishable traffic. In the centre there is a guards compartment with toilet.
