With the increased quantities of concrete needed in the booming Sydney construction industry, FreightCorp catered to the needs of its customers by commissioning the design and construction of 100t cement hoppers. These hoppers are constructed of steel and are fitted with high-speed, high-capacity bogies.

Builders:

-                                 25 were built by AN Rail Workshops in Islington, SA between 1995-97, and are numbered 82101 – 82125.

Length: 14.5m                          Tare:    24t                   Capacity: 76t                            Gross: 100t

Bogies: Originally fitted with XCL, then YMC (2CM) and are now fitted with Gloucester one-piece 100km/h bogies.

Coding:

-                     They have only ever been coded NPHH.

Colour Scheme:

-                     These wagons were originally painted white with a FreightCorp logo on the tank sides. Bogies are FreightCorp blue.

-                     Later an ‘Australian Cement’ logo was added.

Period of Service: 1997 to current.

Operation:

These wagons replaced the NPRY/NPRF on the cement trains to Kandos in 1997. All 25 operate in a single rake on the M-F 1711/7122 cement train from Kandos to the ‘Australian Cement’ plant at Auburn, adjacent to Clyde Up Yard.

In late 2007, several trains were loaded at the Berrima BCSC works whilst the Kandos cement works was offline.
