These 2 open wagons were built by Clyde Wagon Maintenance Centre during 1971-72. Clyde WMC constructed the wagons using a couple of surplus ex-MLV fishbelly underframes. They were used in departmental traffic to convey metal shavings and scrap metal from Clyde Wagon Works to Simsmetal at Mascot.

Coding:

-                      Coded LSD as built,

-                      Recoded NOSF after 1979.

 

Colour Scheme:

-                      They were painted in standard gunmetal grey with white writing.

-                      LSD 4673 appears to have received the PTC blue livery.

-                      At least one was repainted in SRA red.

 

Period of Service: 1972 – 1989.

 

Operation:

            Although primarily used between CWMC and Mascot, these two wagons have been sighted at Pt Kembla, Cardiff and Chullora Workshops. Up until April 2007, one NOSF had been stored in Clyde down yard, but it has since been scrapped on site.

 

Modelling:

            IDR Models produced a HO kit of this wagon but is currently unavailable.
