These wagons were converted from BDX/BDL open wagons in
1968. The body was divided into two compartments with each retaining their
double door. Three hinged tarpaulin ridgepoles are fitted along the centre line
of each compartment to protect the load.
Each
compartment has a traverse timber cradle over the bogies for carrying one 1.8m
diameter coil and another cradle is fitted down the length of the compartment
for carrying smaller coils.
Running Numbers: 50 wagons were converted in total.
