AHGX Wheat Hopper

The AHGX was transferred from South Australia in early 2003 to take up wheat haulage for Manildra Group. They were overhauled, repainted and are fitted with canvas roof hatch covers which are rolled open from the ground.

Bogies: AGXB (similar to XCL).

 

Coding:

-                     Coded AHGX as introduced into NSW,

-                     Recoded MHGX when the fleet was sold to Manildra Group in 2005.

 

Colour Scheme:

-                     They are painted allover Sunflower yellow with Rich Blue ‘Manildra Group’ lettering and ‘Vetta’ logo. Handrails, steps and control levers are white. Codeboard is black with white lettering. Bogies are black.

 

Period of Service: 2003 – Current.

 

Operation:

            These wagons came to NSW in conjunction with ARG winning the Manildra Group contract in 2003. They are used to bring grain from country silos to the Manildra mills at Gunnedah, Nowra and Manildra.
